There are many amazing ministries in Swaziland that specialize in areas of ministry that fit with the mission of Beyond Survival. Rather than compete or try to duplicate what is already being done well, Beyond Survival desires to partner with them by fundraising for various projects and working with them through team trips. These ministries have integrity and have a proven track record of stability and commitment to God and ministry in Swaziland.
The women who create Timbali Crafts are all volunteer cooks at care points for orphans and vulnerable children in the rural Swaziland communities of Engculwini and Nsoko. The 90 women of Timbali Crafts help feed more than 3000 children each day at 20 different care points.
The women themselves face many hardships: most are either widowed or abandoned, many are single mothers, or grandmothers raising their orphaned grandchildren. Timbali Crafts was started in 2006 to help reach out to the physical and spiritual needs of these hard-working women and their families who would otherwise have little or none.

Lotion Bar Cafe is located in southern Colorado Springs, Colorado . Started in 2007 after a fun-filled yule log hunt.We stopped off to pick up a prize my son had won from finding the yule log. We went into this store that was very cute in Woodland Park. There were these bars that were poured into a candy type mold and they were very oily. On our way down the mountain we talked about making them for my family gifts. Cheryl painted some old terra-cotta dishes and about 30 espressos… and 15 batches later… we had the perfect lotion bar. Not to oily or greasy. Only using the best ingredients like shea butter, cocoa butter, beeswax, and great oils like grape seed, castor, sweet almond. The family loved them and I would bring the left overs to work and use the bars at the restaurant I work at (Applebees). I always had my hands in water my hands never felt so good! Voila’! Thats how it was started! Seems like only yesterday that we would be up til all hours of the night ! I now make all natural body treats which include handcrafted soaps, lotions, lotion bars, fizzies, lip balms, scrubs, and now mineral eyeshadow. Lotion Bar Cafe has faithfully supported the ministry of Beyond Survival.
Children’s HopeChest connects Christian communities in the U.S. and Canada with impoverished communities of orphans overseas. This unique “community-to-community” sponsorship leverages the power of one community of Christians making a long-term, transformational impact on a community of orphans and vulnerable children. Ultimately, these relationships and resources empower orphans to survive, thrive, and succeed within their home culture.
We do this by taking humanitarian and spiritual aid into the hard places where war, natural disasters and disease epidemics have devastated societies. These children in hard places know horrors most of our children have never even heard of. Food, shelter, medicine and education are not enough to heal their emotions. Most have been sexually abused, beaten and some have even been forced to murder and maim as child warriors. They need hope. Hope’s name is Jesus! Our work currently focuses heavily on Swaziland, Mozambique and Zimbabwe, and efforts are also underway in Vietnam and the Philippines.
The Sound of Hope exists to raise funds and awareness for orphans and vulnerable children around the world. We are committed to helping children break out of the cycle of poverty by partnering with programs that offer holistic care. We seek to educate, engage, and empower others to join the movement in creative ways.
Water. Water is the problem. Water is the solution. It might not cost as much to build and maintain a freshwater well as you think. The average cost for us to build a freshwater well in most developing nations is just $5,000. That means an entire COMMUNITY of people’s lives can be forever saved with just $5K.
